Ahh the bracing feel of a cold shower in the morning

Today, I have no hot water. I turned the waterheater on, just like I do every morning, and nothin. No pilot light light, no reassuring whoosh of propane being lit . . .just an eerie silence. I went out and looked, and the wires going from the control board to the elements are *melted*. WTF? How did that happen? :(

I hope I can find a replacement around here somewhere. I'll be making calls as soon as places are opened for business. I hope I don't have to drive up to the city. It's a three hour round trip! But don't get me wrong, if that's what it takes, I'll do it. I just hope I don't have to order it online, or it'll be a very stinky sad week. *g*

Cross your fingers for me!

ETA: Well, that didn't go well. I got the new board, and connected it just like the old one, flipped the switch, and got a clickclickclick, which is progress, but no flame. So I go back outside and make sure all the connections are seated properly, and promptly broke one of the very fragile, and probably very expensive ground connectors. :( I think I've done enough damage for one day. Hopefully I'll be able to get someone out next week who knows how to do this stuff. I feel icky and gross and like a big, bumbling idiot, and am this close to tears right now. :(((

*gasp* Maybe you need to call the Winchesters! ;-)

I so wish! They certainly couldn't have fucked it up more than I did. :(

Ack - that sounds miserable. *crosses fingers for you*

Thanks, Nicci, but I managed to fuck it up pretty badly. :( Hopefully I'll be able to get someone out to fix it next week.

It's the revenge of The Pooh. ::: is evil :::

I give up. Pooh wins. :(

Ummmmmm...was hooking it up the way it was before the right thing to do because, uh....melted? Something about all this is just hitting me as odd because - it just is. Figures this would happen over the long weekend.

Pooh's revenge was only the cold shower...not all the breakage. Don't be sad, you'll get it fixed up in no time. Can you take a shower at work? Maybe just go in a little early and head to the locker room first?
