Assignment over

I'm done here. The assignment is over. Funnily, I'm not absolutely ecstatic to be leaving. I think that's a first! I'm usually sooooo ready to go. I really do like it here, a great deal. This place is so good for my ego. The last day was wonderful, yet really difficult. They threw a big going away party-- Chinese food, balloons, cards, a few tears. The manager gave me a huge hug and said, "Thank you for coming and saving us. You're our hero." /wibbles/ I've been assured I'll be back. I guess they've never been without a temp for more than six months in the last ten years, so my chances are pretty good. *g*

Financing the new RV has been a friggin nightmare. Why did I decide to do this during a credit crunch? I have spent all my spare physical, emotional, and mental energy on trying to get the damned thing done. It looks like that has *finally* paid off, though. I should get the final word on Monday. What a relief! I haven't even had the extra time to read porn! Okay, that's a teensy lie. I've read a little, just not nearly as much as usual. *g*

I need to go through all my stuff and get rid of things I haven't even looked at in the five and a half years I've been living this life. I'd much rather get rid of it now instead of move it all to the new coach, then have to go through it later. I've already done a lot of it, but still have some of the cabinets in the bedroom and kitchen to go through. It was a blow giving most of my books away, but I rarely read paper books any more. I'm all about the ebooks now. I think I gave over 200 lbs of novels away last week. I love the fact that I can have 1000 books on my computer-- they don't take up space, don't weigh a ton, and don't collect dust. Plus, I find them immensely easier to read, because the PDA has a backlight, so I don't need my glasses when I'm snuggled up in bed reading myself to sleep. :)

What I'd really like to do today is curl up with fic, eat some chocolate, and have a lazy day. I need to get moving before I succumb to the temptation. *g*
